BIOHACK-HERS: The Biohacking Truth About Nutrition With Celebrity Nutritionist, Teri Cochrane
On this episode of Biohack-HERS, HigherDOSE Founders Lauren Berlingeri and Katie Kaps meet with Teri Cochrane, a celebrity nutritionist also known as the Spiritual Scientist. For this Biohack-HERS experience, Lauren and Katie get to try the Teri Cochrane Method firsthand, which is a combination of Western medicine-based nutrigenomics (aka, how food influences our genes) and applied kinesiology with psychic aura readings in the hopes of finding out which foods are actually healthy for their bodies.
The experience begins with an evaluation of Lauren and Katie’s DNA, genetics, and intake forms and using that data to determine which genes cause nutrition-related problems in the body. The goal of this process is to find an elegant yet simple way to optimize nutrition and supplementation so they can live their best lives. Once Teri has a hypothesis about what Lauren and Katie’s issues are, she uses a muscle test to confirm her findings. Muscle testing is a science-backed process where you ask the body if something is good or not and it responds by staying strong or going weak — and the experience is fascinating. After the muscle testing is complete, Lauren and Katie move on to the final part of the evaluation, which is an energy reading to learn more about what is happening in their energy fields and how that might impact how and why their bodies respond negatively to certain types of food. In a lot of ways, Teri is like an energy nutrition alchemist, using science-backed practices to work some serious magic to gain insight into how food has the power to express genetics.
